Plein Air Festival: June 30-July 6.  This festival is about painting in the outdoors and open air. This is a fundraiser for SAF, which is a non-profit created to restore and preserve the Sheridan Opera House. This festival is free.  For more information, visit telluridepleinair.com.

The Ride Festival: July 12-14. This festival brings high energy rock 'n roll live music to the Town Park stage.  This year's lineup includes Widespread Panic, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, and Big Head Todd to name a few. For more information, visit ridefestival.com.

The 46th Bluegrass Festival is being held in Telluride June 20-23, 2019.  This is a live music festival and includes Brandi Carlile, Jim James, and Kacey Musgraves this year!  For more information, visit bluegrass.com

Saturday, June 1, 2019 is a busy day for Telluride and the surrounding communities.  The Hot Air Balloon Festival starts off at 6:15am in Telluride Town Park with the inflating of the balloons.  There are 20 balloons this year and they will take off-weather permitting.  Then, at 9:30am at the park, Telluride will be celebrating Huck Finn and Becky Thatcher Day with horse wagon rides, costume contest (think bonnets and straw hats,) hot dogs, burgers, and drinks, as well as a fishing contest that starts at 11am!  Fishing gear will be provided to kids under age 9 at 10:30am.  (For more information on that, call Ken Vann at 729-1125.)  Then again, from 8-9:30pm, the balloons will fire back up for the Main Street Glo!  Make sure to bring your camera!  The balloons will also inflate again on Sunday, June 2 at 6:15am for those who must miss the Saturday events!

The Colorado Parks and Wildlife is sponsoring a women only weekend where women of any experience level can come and enjoy the fun.  The "Cast and Blast" is for any woman over 18 years old and will be held June 21-23, 2019 at the Miramonte State Wildlife area.  Women who register will learn basic fly fishing, shotgun shooting, archery, wildlife watching, and camping skills.  All food and equipment will be provided EXCEPT camping gear and a fishing license.  They are only accepting the first 15-20 women who pay a refundable $40 deposit to Darlene Trainor.  Darlene can be reached at (970) 252-6000 or by e-mail at darlene.trainor@state.co.us   Hurry so you don't miss your spot!
