Saturday, June 1, 2019 is a busy day for Telluride and the surrounding communities.  The Hot Air Balloon Festival starts off at 6:15am in Telluride Town Park with the inflating of the balloons.  There are 20 balloons this year and they will take off-weather permitting.  Then, at 9:30am at the park, Telluride will be celebrating Huck Finn and Becky Thatcher Day with horse wagon rides, costume contest (think bonnets and straw hats,) hot dogs, burgers, and drinks, as well as a fishing contest that starts at 11am!  Fishing gear will be provided to kids under age 9 at 10:30am.  (For more information on that, call Ken Vann at 729-1125.)  Then again, from 8-9:30pm, the balloons will fire back up for the Main Street Glo!  Make sure to bring your camera!  The balloons will also inflate again on Sunday, June 2 at 6:15am for those who must miss the Saturday events!
